First thing you should do is design a puppet
· Draw some sketches
· Pick the colors (what kind of clothes should it wear)
· Create a character (name, voice and story)

Once you have your idea into place of what you basically want the next step is to gather materials.

Here's what you'll need: (Most of this items can be found at your local crafts store.)

You will need stuffing either from inside a pillow or from an old stuffed animal like a teddy bear, which is more fun to do anyway.

You will cut the leg off and use that as the body, you might want to also use the button for your puppet's pants.

They have to be sharp enough to cut cloth
(parental permission required)

You will cut the sleeve off and use that as the top part of the body covering up the jeans and put the stuffing in between the jeans and shirt.

A needle and thread white is preferred but any color you want is just fine. You will use this to stitch the puppet together from arms to clothes to hands and feet.

Masking tape is needed for the arm controls feet and anything else you can think of.

A coat hanger is needed for the arm control you can cut these with the scissors glue them to the puppet's wrist and put some masking tape on the end to be able to control the puppet's hands.

A hot glue gun is needed for reinforcement of some parts of stitching, for the hand and feet attachment and the arm controls. Ask your parents permission before using the gun because it can be extremely hot.

A white cotton glove is needed because you will only make the body of the puppet the head is purely your hand inside a glove and total performance.

A sharpie marker is needed for marking where you will cut, stitch and for drawing on your puppet's name.

You can find an old doll from any yard sale or second hand store for a couple of bucks, you can use the doll's stuffing, hands and feet, boots or shoes for your puppet, you can also use the doll's hair or dress if you are making a female puppet, use your imagination.

"Googley Eyes" can be found in any party store, they don't make them like they use to back in the late 90's they where made of hard shell plastic coated with clear plastic making them strong and durable now they are soft and easy to break so buy a couple of them for repair purposes, they cost about 99 cents.

A little plastic baseball hat or cap can be found in most candy machines at the supermarket put a quarter in and hope you don't get an N'Sync key chain.
After you get your hat you may either hot glue a rubber band or string to the bottom of it so you can put it around your middle finger like a ring before you put the eyes on.

First you cut the pant leg of your jeans off the size of your arm from elbow to wrist then the sleeve from the middle of your arm to your wrist which is the top half of the puppet's body. Then the other sleeve will get cut in half long ways to make two arms and after you fill them with stuffing. You will glue the hands on then and glue the coat hanger to the end of the wrist with masking tape on the other end so you can move the arms. Then you cut the other pant leg off and into two pieces and roll them up to make the legs, fill them with stuffing and hot glue the shoes to the end, then a little paint and decorations (if required). Put your glove on and put a rubber band or string to the hat put that on your middle finger and the eyes in front of the hat on your middle finger. And now all you have to do is name your puppet and away you go. (If you have any problem see picture and figure LEFT or e-mail Stanley him self for more help at Stanley@moviegodproductions.com)
