Imagine

Imagine a writer, director, cinematographer, musician, actor and an editor who individually have been trying for years to break down the same big steel door by themselves. Taking turns getting unnoticed and only making small dents in the seemingly impermeable veneer. Now imagine those same artists finding each other, combining their talents, and working together on the one, two or four projects, united as one with determination and perseverance and support, can undertake.

Imagine what that door looks like now.

Throughout Hollywood history, filmmakers from Chaplin to Griffith, from Coppola to Spielberg have banded together to maintain the creative integrity of their films and gain creative control over their movies, time and again; they proved "United, we stand."

Clockwise from back - Charles Chaplin, Darryl Zanuck, Samuel Goldwyn, Douglas Fairbanks, Joseph Schenck and Mary Pickford (Pictured here in 1930) formed The United Artists (UA) in 1919 and pioneered a different kind of Hollywood where creators created and producers produced.

Each year, thousands of entertainment-industry hopefuls come to "make it" in Hollywood. Some make it by giving a great audition; others by being in the right place at the right time. Others maybe just because they know somebody.

But sadly, most don't make it because for every Hollywood hopeful that arrives in January, there's one that gives up and leaves in December.
We have seen them. We have heard about them. Chances are we ARE them … The people standing in line for an audition on some remote street. The people copying their resumes and bios and headshots at a copy shop. The people carrying a stack of headshot-sized envelopes under each arm at the post office. These are the Hollywood hopefuls.

Besides trying to achieve their dreams to make it in Hollywood, these people share another characteristic. But this one disconcerting: Hollywood hopefuls rarely talk to one another. They see one another as competitors, not collaborators.

Moviegod Productions Entertainment endeavors to resurrect a concept that is not new but is right for our time. Artists who want to be the next generation of actors, writers and filmmakers collaborating with one another to write that screenplay, make that movie, or score that music, while retaining creative control, making a profit and, most importantly, supporting each other. By not working for free but working for return by working for each other and with each other.
