Talent Agency Directory

A sample letter to send along with your headshot and resume.

When contacting a talent agency it is best to have a cover letter along with your headshot and resume.

This letter should have information about you, your goals and how you found out about them.

A talent agency directory will usually include the Agency's name, address, phone and fax numbers, and a personal contact or the main person's name that handles new submissions.

You can pick up manila or headshot envelopes at the Post Office or your local Office Depot/Walmart.

You may not always get a response right away, or ever! A "follow up" call after a few weeks is always a good idea. Ask them if they received your headshots and if they would like to meet you.

NEVER just drop in on them unexpectedly!

To: Stanley Talent

Dear Stanley Smith
Enclosed are a few of my new headshots and resume. I am very interested in your agency.
I have heard that you are one of the best in the area for representation. I am 21 years old
and have been acting for most of my life. I live in Los Angeles, CA. and got your name
from MoviegodProductions.com. Please let me know if you are interested in working
together. I will send you more headshots, but would love to meet you in person.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call (818) 555-1234.
I look forward to hearing from you.
                                       Thank you,
                                              Joe Actor

Search for a SAG franchised talent agency in your area.

All Guild members' talent agents must be franchised by The Guild.

This is a list of talent agents and agencies franchised by the Screen Actors Guild. The SAG franchise reflects only that the agent or agency is state licensed where required; has provided a surety bond or other security; has submitted recommendations from people in the industry, and has promised to comply with SAG's rules governing agents and agencies. The granting of a franchise by SAG does not in any manner, directly or indirectly, constitute a guarantee, warranty or representation as to an agent's ability or quality, or the conduct of the agent toward a performer.

The SAG franchise does not indicate whether complaints have been filed with SAG against the agent or agency.

Under confidentiality requirements, the SAG franchise does not reflect whether The Guild has initiated any proceeding to discipline or revoke the franchise of the talent or agency.
